Regulation of Liquid Self‐Transport Through Architectural‐Thermal Coupling: Transitioning From Free Surfaces to Open Channels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 15, April 17, 2025.
Inspired by the skin of the Texas horned lizard, hierarchical structures composed of primary wedged grooves and secondary capillary crura are proposed, and the regulation of liquid self‐transport is achieved through architectural and thermal coupling, transitioning from free surfaces to open channels.

High‐Efficiency Water Collection of Superhydrophobic Condensation Absorber

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 13, April 3, 2025.
The combination of the low nucleation barrier, small droplet shedding volume, and high‐frequency surface refreshing makes the superhydrophobic condensation absorber (SCA) has a high water collection rate. In addition, this atmospheric water collection method based on the droplet jetting phenomenon enables excellent water collection capacity on the top ...

Foundations of Ghost Stability

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 73, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract The authors present a new method to analytically prove global stability in ghost‐ridden dynamical systems. The proposal encompasses all prior results and consequentially extends them. In particular, it is shown that stability can follow from a conserved quantity that is unbounded from below, contrary to expectation.

Multiobjective QFT Control as Enabler for Wind Turbines With Soft‐Soft Towers

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 28, Issue 4, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Wind energy tendency towards larger rotors and higher hub heights reach a limit when wind turbine pitch controller bandwidth is constrained by the first tower fore‐aft bending moment. While most manufacturers try to find a workaround with alternative nonstandard tower designs, this paper presents a control solution based on quantitative ...

Analytical expressions for the effective coefficients of fibre‐reinforced composite materials under the influence of inelastic distortions

open access: yesZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, Volume 105, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract We aim to deduce analytic expressions for the homogenised coefficients that describe the mechanical behaviour of a uniaxially fibre‐reinforced composite material consisting of two solid constituents undergoing inelastic distortions, one representing the extracellular matrix, and the other representing the inclusions that model the fibres ...

Measure‐valued processes for energy markets

open access: yesMathematical Finance, Volume 35, Issue 2, Page 520-566, April 2025.
Abstract We introduce a framework that allows to employ (non‐negative) measure‐valued processes for energy market modeling, in particular for electricity and gas futures. Interpreting the process' spatial structure as time to maturity, we show how the Heath–Jarrow–Morton approach can be translated to this framework, thus guaranteeing arbitrage free ...

From the conformal anomaly to the Virasoro algebra

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 130, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract The conformal anomaly and the Virasoro algebra are fundamental aspects of two‐dimensional conformal field theory and conformally covariant models in planar random geometry. In this article, we explicitly derive the Virasoro algebra from an axiomatization of the conformal anomaly in terms of real determinant lines, one‐dimensional vector spaces

A Statistical Method to Model Non‐stationarity in Precipitation Records Changes

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 6, 28 March 2025.
Abstract In the context of climate change, assessing how likely a particular change or event was caused by human influence is important for mitigation and adaptation policies. In this work we propose an extreme event attribution (EEA) methodology to analyze yearly maxima records, key indicators of climate change that spark off media attention and ...

Pricing vulnerable European options under a two-sided jump model via Laplace transforms

open access: closedSCIENTIA SINICA Mathematica, 2015
In this paper, we propose a model for pricing the vulnerable European options when the value of the firms asset of the counterparty follows a double exponential jump-diffusion process and correlates with the underlying asset value of the option. The two-sided jump process can model sudden down and up changes in the firms asset value, which provides ...

The two-sided laplace transform for boehmians

open access: closedIntegral Transforms and Special Functions, 1994
An extension of the two-sided Laplace transform to a space of Boehmians is denned. The extension preserves operational properties of the transform and applies to generalized functions with unbounded support which are locally of infinite order. A large class of analytic functions which are transforms of Boehmians is described.
