Multiple resistance mechanisms to abamectin in the two-spotted spider mite
Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology, 2010Abstract The two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae , is one of the most destructive pests of various orchard trees and garden plants. Biochemical mechanisms of abamectin resistance in two T. urticae strains (PTF, 239-fold resistance; AbaR, ca. 4753-fold resistance) were investigated. The involvement of both esterase (Est) and mixed function

Some Variations in Response of Two-Spotted Spider Mite to Acaricides
Journal of Economic Entomology, 1963Responses before death to several acaricides by the two spotted spider mite, Tetranychus telarius (L.), and the southern two-spotted spider mite, T. cinnabarinus (Boisduval), are described. With organic phosphates, the speed of killing action is variable and is accompanied by body shrivelling.

Systematic and Applied Acarology, 2018
Bio-ecological parameters of the two-spotted spider mite (TSSM), Tetranychus urticae Koch and its predators depend on the quality of its host plants. In this study, the life table parameters of TSSM and its main predator Phytoseiulus persimilis Athias ...

European Red Mite and Two-Spotted Spider Mite Control on Apples in California
Journal of Economic Entomology, 1969Field tests were conducted on ‘Red Delicious’ apples during the summers of 1966 and 1967 to evaluate several spray chemicals for control of the European red mite. Panonychus ulmi (Koch). The 1967 treatments were also evaluated for control of the two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch.

Structure of the visual system of the two-spotted spider-mite, Tetranychus urticae
Journal of Insect Physiology, 1974The pair of eyes on each side of Tetranychus urticae consists of fifteen retinular cells, six pigment cells, six corneal cells, and one vitreous cell. Five rhabdomeres lie beneath the anterior lens, twelve beneath the posterior lens. The pigment and corneal cells appear to determine the positions at which rhabdomeres occur.

Host-race formation in the two-spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae)
1992The two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Tetranychidae), has been reported to be found on numerous host-plant species throughout the world. It is an important pest of many agricultural crops, including tomato and cucumber, which are often grown simultaneously, in neighbouring compartments, or alternately, in the same compartment ...
