Two-Stage Template Matching

IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1977
The computational cost of template matching can be reduced by using only a subtemplate, and applying the rest of the template only when the subtemplate's degree of match exceeds a threshold. A probabilistic analysis of this approach is given, with emphasis on the choice of subtemplate size to minimize the expected computational cost.

Allergy in Two Stages

Nature, 1950
THE phenomena very briefly outlined in this communication are the results of a planned series of investigations undertaken to clarify certain observations the significance of which was not at first very evident. Only certain (human) subjects are sensitive to injections of the materials referred to, and it is with regard to such ‘sensitives’ that the ...

Two-Stage Orchiopexy

Archives of Surgery, 1971
A series of 287 undescended testicles was subjected to orchiopexy. In 193 instances (68.3%) a one-stage procedure achieved a satisfactory anatomic result. In 62 instances (21.5%) a two-stage procedure was elected when a one-stage approach was not possible.

The Two‐Stage Concept of Rhytidectomy

Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, 1979
The two‐stage concept is a plan for the management of rhytidectomy patients. Preoperatively, all patients are told that they may need a minor secondary temporal tuck‐up procedure 6 to 12 months after surgical treatment. Although only 20% of patients require this secondary surgical procedure, the possibility of its need encourages all patients to return

Two stage urethroplasty

Der Urologe, 1998
Between 1977 and 1996 we treated 176 patients suffering from complicated urethral strictures with the mesh-graft urethroplasty. This operation technique has replaced the Bengt-Johanson-Operation which had been used frequently until that date. The Cecil-Operation has been totally abandoned, because in our opinion the usage of scrotal skin in urethral ...

Fontan's procedure in two stages

The American Journal of Surgery, 1993
Since 1985, 381 patients with various cardiac malformations that share the central common feature of only one effective ventricle have been treated with some modification of Fontan's operation. Since 1989, the Fontan operation has been staged by associating the superior vena cava with the branch pulmonary arteries (hemi-Fontan) initially followed, some

Two-stage sketch colorization

ACM Transactions on Graphics, 2018
Sketch or line art colorization is a research field with significant market demand. Different from photo colorization which strongly relies on texture information, sketch colorization is more challenging as sketches may not have texture. Even worse, color, texture, and gradient have to be generated from the abstract sketch lines.

ON TWO‐STAGE SUCCESSIVE SAMPLING

Australian Journal of Statistics, 1969
SummaryIn repeated sampling enquiries application of method of successive sampling with partial replacement of units is advantageous. In this paper use of successive sampling technique when the sampling design is multi‐stage has been studied. Estimates of population mean and its variance have been obtained (a) on the second occasion, and (b) on the h ...
