On Stein's Two-stage Sampling Scheme
This paper gives a method for determining the size of the first part of a two-stage sample for estimating the population mean with a given accuracy. The method is based on a scheme of Stein [4]. The tables necessary for application of this method have been given. A more detailed summary will be found at the end of the Introduction.

Optimal Sampling Strategies for Two-Stage Studies [PDF]
The optimal allocation of available resources is the concern of every investigator in choosing a study design. The recent development of statistical methods for the analysis of two-stage data makes these study designs attractive for their economy and efficiency. However, little work has been done on deriving two-stage designs that are optimal under the

A Two-Stage Method to Determine Optimal Product Sampling considering Dynamic Potential Market
This paper develops an optimization model for the diffusion effects of free samples under dynamic changes in potential market based on the characteristics of independent product and presents a two-stage method to figure out the sampling level. The impact

ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

Balanced two-stage equal probability sampling
For two-stage sampling, equal probability sampling method (epsem) by πps-SRS is commonly used in practice. It also provides practical means for controlling cost and fieldwork allocation.

ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...
