Self‐Assembled Calcite Architectures for Programmable Information Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Programmable biomineralization enables the formation of 3D calcite architectures that encode information through spatially defined refractive‐index modulations. Data are written via laser‐directed mineralization, stored in stable voxelized mineral structures, and retrieved non‐destructively through optical diffraction, offering a pathway toward ultra ...

Two-stage Stochastic Programing Based on the Accelerated Benders Decomposition for Designing Power Network Design under Uncertainty

open access: yesInternational Journal of Industrial Engineering and Production Research, 2017
In this paper, a comprehensive mathematical model for designing an electric power supply chain network via considering preventive maintenance under risk of network failures is proposed.

Non‐Volatile Silicon Mach‐Zehnder Switches with 0.7 π Phase Shift Based on Graphene Heaters and Sb2Se3 Phase Change Material

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Photonic integrated circuits (PICs) can deliver unparalleled performance for future neuromorphic computing applications. Such neuromorphic PICs require a large number of tunable switches, which are typically realized with current‐controlled heaters, resulting in considerable energy consumption.

Bilevel stochastic programming problems: Analysis and application to telecommunications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We analyse several facets of bilevel decision problems under uncertainty. These problems can be interpreted as an extension of stochastic programming problems where part of the uncertainty is attributed to the behaviour of another actor.

Two-Stage Stochastic Programming for Precast Module Water Transportation: A Case Study in Hong Kong

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Transporting precast modules via water is a vital component of multimodal transportation systems, increasingly utilized in large-scale Modular integrated Construction (MiC) projects where modules are prefabricated in remote factories.

Exact solutions to a class of stochastic generalized assignment problems [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper deals with a stochastic Generalized Assignment Problem with recourse. Only a random subset of the given set of jobs will require to be actually processed.

Mono‐ and Bilayer MoS2 Photodetectors: High‐Performance Broadband AC Readout With Color‐Selective Noise Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Mono‐ and bilayer MoS2 photodetectors enable wavelength‐selective AC photoresponse and optically driven capacitance modulation under visible illumination. Green excitation produces the strongest cumulative capacitive response, consistent with trap‐mediated charge accumulation at mono/bilayer and metal–MoS2 interfaces.

Information Transmission Strategies for Self‐Organized Robotic Aggregation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how information transmission influences the neighbor‐based self‐organized aggregation of swarm robots. We focus specifically on local interactions regarding information transfer and categorize previous studies based on the functions of the information exchanged.

Time and nodal decomposition with implicit non-anticipativity constraints in dynamic portfolio optimization [PDF]

open access: yes
We propose a decomposition method for the solution of a dynamic portfolio optimization problem which fits the formulation of a multistage stochastic programming problem.

Echinoderm‐Inspired Autonomy for Soft‐Legged Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Inspired by echinoderms, a modular soft robot achieves autonomous phototaxis without a central controller or explicit communication. Each limb independently adapts its actuation timing through local sensing and short‐term memory. Coordination emerges purely from physical interactions, demonstrating resilience to changes in morphology, environment, and ...
