A direction‐aware piezo‐transmittance strain sensor is realized through the engineered alignment of carbon nanotubes. This anisotropic architecture instantaneously modulates optical transmittance, achieving ultra‐high sensitivity and exceptionally low hysteresis. By effectively eliminating signal crosstalk to precisely decouple multidirectional strains,

Time and nodal decomposition with implicit non-anticipativity constraints in dynamic portfolio optimization [PDF]
We propose a decomposition method for the solution of a dynamic portfolio optimization problem which fits the formulation of a multistage stochastic programming problem.

Self‐Assembled Calcite Architectures for Programmable Information Storage
Programmable biomineralization enables the formation of 3D calcite architectures that encode information through spatially defined refractive‐index modulations. Data are written via laser‐directed mineralization, stored in stable voxelized mineral structures, and retrieved non‐destructively through optical diffraction, offering a pathway toward ultra ...

Two-stage stochastic linear programming: Stochastic decomposition approaches. [PDF]
Stochastic linear programming problems are linear programming problems for which one or more data elements are described by random variables. Two-stage stochastic linear programming problems are problems in which a first stage decision is made before the

ABSTRACT Photonic integrated circuits (PICs) can deliver unparalleled performance for future neuromorphic computing applications. Such neuromorphic PICs require a large number of tunable switches, which are typically realized with current‐controlled heaters, resulting in considerable energy consumption.

Color Center Formation in Silicon‐On‐Insulator for On‐Chip Photonic Integration
ABSTRACT Color centers in silicon have great potential as single photon sources for quantum technologies. Some of them – like the T center – also possess optically‐active spins that enable spin‐photon interfaces for generating entangled photons and multi‐spin registers. This paper explores the generation of several types of color centers in silicon for

Mono‐ and bilayer MoS2 photodetectors enable wavelength‐selective AC photoresponse and optically driven capacitance modulation under visible illumination. Green excitation produces the strongest cumulative capacitive response, consistent with trap‐mediated charge accumulation at mono/bilayer and metal–MoS2 interfaces.

Convex approximations for complete integer recourse models [PDF]
We consider convex approximations of the expected value function of a two-stage integer recourse problem. The convex approximations are obtained by perturbing the distribution of the random right-hand side vector.

Optical Manipulation of Whispering Gallery Mode Microlasers for Controlled Cellular Delivery
Optically trapped whispering‑gallery microlasers are precisely positioned onto non‐phagocytic mammalian cells to report local refractive‑index changes in real time. Time‑dependent wavelength shifts reveal successive stages from membrane contact to internalization.
