[Retracted] Study of Surface Roughness of Cutting Isothermally Hardened Ductile Iron in Tosa Knife Forging Technique Based on Intelligent Calculation

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
With a long history of more than 600 years of development, the Achang Tosa knives have always been handmade and made in strict accordance with tradition and absorbing the essence of foreign cultures. It is not only a tool or a gift, but also a “knife culture” and a local “folk culture” with local ethnic characteristics in Yunnan.

A Unique Quenching and Deformation Dilatometer for Combined In Situ Neutron Diffraction Analysis of Engineering Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 23, Issue 11, November 2021., 2021
A modified quenching and deformation dilatometer (TA instruments DIL 805A/D/T) is now in operation at the Heinz Maier‐Leibnitz Zentrum (MLZ, Germany) neutron center. It is customized for running neutron scattering measurements during the temperature/deformation treatment of the sample, in particular neutron diffraction (phase, texture, and lattice ...

Influence of different electron beam surface pre‐treatments on the results of subsequent boriding‐part I Einfluss verschiedener Elektronenstrahl‐Randschichtbehandlungen auf das Ergebnis eines nachfolgenden Borierens‐Teil I

open access: yesMaterialwissenschaft und Werkstofftechnik, Volume 52, Issue 8, Page 815-830, August 2021., 2021
Under comparable boriding conditions, the layer thickness generated on the unalloyed cast iron surface were approximately twice as thick as on the nickel cladded surface. For the unalloyed substrate, the well‐known iron borides were determined. The boride layer formed on the alloyed surface contained iron borides with dissolved nickel portions as well ...

Sliding wear and corrosion behaviour of alloyed austempered ductile iron subjected to novel two step austempering treatment [PDF]

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2018
Austempered Ductile Iron(ADI) is an exciting alloy of iron which offers the design engineers the best combination high strength-to-weight ratio, low cost design flexibility, good toughness, wear resistance along with fatigue strength. The two step austempering procedure helps in simultaneously improving the tensile strength as-well as the ductility to ...

Development of Nanobainitic Microstructures in Carbo-Austempered Cast Steels: Heat Treatment, Microstructure and Properties

open access: yesMetals, 2020
Carburizing implies the existence of a carbon gradient from the surface to the core of the steel, which in turn will affect both the critical temperature for austenite formation and the kinetics of the bainitic transformation during the austempering ...

Effect of two-step austempering process on carbidic ductile iron

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract The two-step austempering process when applied to ductile iron, results in significant improvement in mechanical properties due to the strengthening of the ausferitic matrix. The present work was undertaken to investigate the effect of the two-step austempering process on carbidic ductile iron.

Abrasion resistance of ductile iron austempered by the two-step process

open access: yesMaterials Science and Engineering: A, 2008
Abstract The present work focuses in the study of the effect that a new two-step austempering heat treatment process, developed by Putatunda, has on the mechanical properties with emphasis on the response to the abrasive wear. A ductile cast iron melt was prepared in an industrial facility obtaining both, Y-blocks (ASTM A 897) to be used for the ...

Electrochemical and Surface Insights Into X12CrMoWVNbN10‐1‐1 Steel Corrosion in Chloride Solutions at Variable pH

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, Volume 77, Issue 4, Page 518-528, April 2026.
The corrosion performance of X12CrMoWVNbN10‐1‐1 steel in chloride environments dramatically depends on pH. Acidic conditions trigger intense surface degradation, whereas neutral and alkaline media foster the formation of a compact and stable passive film, drastically reducing both general and localized corrosion.
