Comparing speeds of effectiveness of two treatments

European Neuropsychopharmacology, 1996
A variety of methods have been proposed for analyzing and summarizing data from clinical trials of pharmaceutical agents. Methods directed at evaluating the speed of activity of an agent are an important component of such analyses. We review several parameters that are useful for comparing speed of effectiveness and demonstrate their utility, both with

A Two‐Speed Centrifuge for Immunohematologists

Transfusion, 1968
In an effort to produce a more softly packed “button” of cells during centrifugation, a fixed speed centrifuge was modified to provide a second lower speed to be used for final centrifugation. Several of these were tested and it was found that centrifugation of the cells suspended in albumin at 2,000–2,500 rpm (400–500 R.C.F.) for two minutes produced ...

Speed Optimization for Tasks with Two Resources

Proceedings of the 2016 Design, Automation & Test in Europe Conference & Exhibition (DATE), 2016
Multiple resource co-scheduling algorithms and pipelined execution models are becoming increasingly popular, as they better capture the heterogeneous nature of modern architectures. The problem of scheduling tasks composed of multiple stages tied to different resources goes under the name of “flow-shop scheduling”.

TWO HANDS SPEED UP DEBURRING

Industrial Robot: An International Journal, 1991
This article describes a study that has been made on the automation of deburring in a foundry. Circular castings weighing up to 20kg are deburred before delivery in order to make them fit into machining cells. The maximum production rate of the cylindrical castings on the foundry line is one casting every ten seconds. However, the castings are produced

Two-Speed Reactions

2021
The discussion on the issue of war and peace became central to the International’s internal debates. The second Moroccan crisis (1911) and the Italo-Turkish War (1911–1912) highlight a two-speed reaction by the International. Internal dynamics within the International prevent the reaction to the first Moroccan crisis from being really significant ...

Inversion of growth speed anisotropy in two dimensions

Physical Review Letters, 1993
An inversion of the triangular shape of the two-dimensional islands observed in a narrow temperature range by scanning tunneling microscopy during growth of Pt on Pt(111) is reported. This phenomenon is due to the inversion of the growth speed ratio of the two types of close packed 〈110〉 step edges.
