Nematodes Associated with Plants in lowa [PDF]
During a preliminary survey of plant parasitic nematodes in Iowa, 55 species, mostly in the Tylenchoidea, were identified. Except for Longidorus, Xiphinema, and Trichodorus, the Dorylaimoidea were not considered.

Embryology and Life Cycle of Tylenchorhynchus claytoni Steiner, 1937 (Nematoda: Tylenchoidea).
Development of Tylenchorhynchus claytoni from unsegmented egg to hatching takes 135 hr at 22-25 C. The fourth molt lasts 5 to 6 days. During exsheathment the cast cuticle of the larva separated into two unequal parts, breaking near either the anterior or posterior end.

Antaretylus humus n. gen., n. sp. from the Subantarctic (Nematoda: Tylenchoidea).
Antarctylus humus n. gen., n. sp. from peat soil in the subantarctic is proposed. It can be distinguished from the most closely related genus Helicotylenchus by the arrangement of the esophageal glands, the broadly rounded lip region, and the tapering pointed tail in the female.

The holotype of Chitinotylenchus paragracilis (Micoletzky, 1922) is redescribed and illustrated. Chitinotylenchus is proposed as a synonym of Ditylenchus Filipjev, 1936 and C. paragracilis as Ditylenchus paragracilis (Micoletzky, 1922) new comb. The four other species in the genus Chitinotylenchus are considered species inquirendae.
