Models of Type II Supernova Explosions [PDF]
Present stellar evolution codes predict that stars with He-core masses above approximately 2 M⊙, corresponding to main sequence masses of at least 8 M⊙ burn carbon non-violently. After hydrostatic core carbon burning all those stars contain O-Ne-Mg cores but their further evolution is strongly dependent on the stellar entropy and thus on the main ...

SN 2021wvw: A Core-collapse Supernova at the Subluminous, Slower, and Shorter End of Type IIPs
We present detailed multiband photometric and spectroscopic observations and analysis of a rare core-collapse supernova, SN 2021wvw, that includes photometric evolution up to 250 days and spectroscopic coverage up to 100 days postexplosion.

Magnetorotational Explosions of Core-Collapse Supernovae
Core-collapse supernovae are accompanied by formation of neutron stars. The gravitation energy is transformed into the energy of the explosion, observed as SN II, SN Ib,c type supernovae.

We present ultraviolet (UV) through near-infrared (NIR) photometric and spectroscopic observations of the nearby SN 2024pxl, the third Type Ia supernova (SN Ia) in NGC 6384.

Type II supernovae at high redshifts
A hydro code coupled with radiation transfer was applied to produce monochromatic light curves of two models of type II supernovae (SN II) simulating SN II-P and SN IIb (SN 1993J-like). We then used these template light curves to evaluate the possibility of detecting SNe II at different redshifts.

SN 2023ixf is one of the most well-observed core-collapse supernovae in recent decades, yet there is inconsistency in the inferred zero-age main-sequence (ZAMS) mass M _ZAMS of its progenitor. Direct observations of the pre-supernova (SN) red supergiant (

Spectral Modeling of Type II Supernovae [PDF]
Using models of the SN~IIP 2005cs, we show that detailed spectral analysis can be used to determine reddening and abundances.

Neutrinos from Type-II Supernovae
Abstract In our work we investigate the stellar surface fluxes of different neutrino flavors, both with and without matter effects, while aiming to consider the varying density of the progenitor star to reveal intriguing variations in their behavior. By examining both normal and inverted neutrino mass hierarchies in studies of neutrino fluxes,

While about 20 type II supernova (SN II) progenitors have been identified using optical data from the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), direct detection of type Ib/Ic supernova (SN Ib/Ic) progenitors remains challenging, due to their faint optical brightness

On the Pair-instability Supernova Origin of J1010+2358
The first (Population III) stars formed only out of H and He and were likely more massive than present-day stars. Massive Population III stars in the range 140–260 M _⊙ are predicted to end their lives as pair-instability supernovae (PISNe), enriching ...
