Trigonal Bipyramidal Clusters [Tl5]7−: Synthesis and Characterization of the Zintl Phase K7−xAxTl5 (A = Rb, Cs; 0 < x ≤ 2.35)

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 70, December 12, 2025.
Mixed alkali metals, potassium and additional rubidium or cesium, allow for the synthesis of a straightforward, electron‐precise Zintl phase K7−xAxTl5. The new phase is characterized by SCXRD, PXRD, and DFT. Its metastability is proven by DSC measurements.

Surface‐Mounted Metal‐Organic Framework for the Adsorption and Sensing of Monoaromatic Pollutants in Water Using Quartz Crystal Microbalance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 23, December 3, 2025.
A hydrophobic metal‐organic framework (UHMOF‐100) is grown on a quartz crystal microbalance sensor for the first time. The device enables real‐time, selective detection of monoaromatic BTEX pollutants in water, demonstrating a new strategy for creating robust chemical sensors for challenging environmental monitoring applications. Abstract Environmental

Microvascular Health as a Key Determinant of Organismal Aging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 47, December 18, 2025.
Abstract Aging is a complex, multifaceted process affecting all organ systems, with vascular aging playing a central role in organismal health decline. Beyond its role in circulation, the vascular system acts as a dynamic interface between tissues, influencing countless physiological functions such as tissue regeneration and repair, immune responses ...

Early-phase Simultaneous Multiband Observations of the Type II Supernova SN 2024ggi with Mephisto

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
We present early-phase good-cadence (hour-to-day) simultaneous multiband ( ugi and vrz bands) imaging of the nearby supernova SN 2024ggi, which exploded in the nearby galaxy NGC 3621.

Review of Analytical Lithium Detection and Quantification Methods Along the Lithium Value Chain

open access: yesApplied Research, Volume 4, Issue 6, December 2025.
This article reviews a selection of suitable state‐of‐the‐art analytical methods for different scales of spatial resolution and detection of lithium for a variety of lithium‐bearing materials along the lithium value chain. The various materials differ greatly in terms of their lithium content by more than 5 orders of magnitude and also vary in their ...

Positron annihilation spectroscopy of clumpy structures 1. Type II young Supernova remnants

open access: yesPhysical Sciences and Technology, 2018
The clumpy structure of the SN 1987A ejecta revealed by numerous IR observations has been described. The simulation of the clump formation in the progenitor star’s explosion was performed.

Light Curves of Type IIP Supernovae from Neutrino-driven Explosions of Red Supergiants Obtained by a Semianalytic Approach

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Type IIP supernovae (SNe IIP) mark the explosive death of red supergiants (RSGs), evolved massive stars with an extended hydrogen envelope. They are the most common supernova type and allow for the benchmarking of supernova explosion models by ...

Review of the anatomical basis for predicting plutonium alpha particle radiation induced osteogenic cancers

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 308, Issue 12, Page 3197-3229, December 2025.
Abstract Plutonium was discovered and first synthesized in the early 1940's. Several isotopes of plutonium are used in nuclear technologies, 238Pu for heat generation and 239Pu for energy production and weapons. Both isotopes emit alpha particles, which pose a significant radiation hazard when incorporated into the body.
