Type-2 fuzzy logic systems: type-reduction

SMC'98 Conference Proceedings. 1998 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (Cat. No.98CH36218), 2002
Type-reduction in a type-2 fuzzy logic system (FLS) is an "extended" version of the defuzzification operation in a type-1 FLS. In this paper, we briefly review the structure of a type-2 FLS and describe type-reduction in detail. We focus on a center-of-sets type-reducer, and provide some examples to illustrate it.

Reductions between types of numberings

Annals of Pure and Applied Logic, 2019
In this article, the authors obtain a wide collection of results concerning \(k\)-r.e. numberings, \(k\) a positive integer, left-r.e. numberings and \(\alpha\)-r.e. numberings for recursive ordinals \(\alpha\geq \omega\). From the summary: ``This paper considers reductions between types of numberings; these reductions preserve the Rogers semilattice ...

ON THE REDUCTION OF TYPE THEORY

Mathematical Logic Quarterly, 1983
The paper concerns a theorem of Grishin, who showed that New Foundations and type theory are reducible to a system of axioms containing only four consecutive types. On the other hand, M. Boffa showed, that this is the best possible result because the reduction to three consecutive types is impossible.

Glycemia Reduction in Type 2 Diabetes — Glycemic Outcomes

New England Journal of Medicine, 2022
BACKGROUND The comparative effectiveness of glucose-lowering medications for use with metformin to maintain target glycated hemoglobin levels in persons with type 2 diabetes is uncertain. METHODS In this trial involving participants with type 2 diabetes of less than 10 years' duration who were receiving metformin and had glycated hemoglobin levels of 6.

Orthogonal type extensions and reductions

ACM SIGPLAN Notices, 1990
In this paper we present a generalization of Oberon's record type extensions. Our extension mechanism is orthogonally applicable to all the conventional data types found in Pascal-like languages. In order to balance the type system, we present an inverse concept, type reductions, that also can be applied to all the programmer-defined data types.

Enzymatic reduction of disulfide-type thiamine derivatives

Biochemical Pharmacology, 1969
Abstract An enzyme which catalyzed the thiol-disulfide exchange reaction between reduced glutathione and disulfide-type thiamine derivatives, a newly developed fat soluble thiamine derivative, was described. Enzyme from rat liver was partially purified and its substrate specificity was studied.

Mechanism of meerwein-pondorf-verley type reductions

Tetrahedron, 1978
Abstract The reduction of benzophenone by lithium and chloromagnesium alkoxides has been studied as well as the transformation of certain lithium alkoxides to the corresponding ketones by electron transfer. Fluorenone was reduced by lithium sec-butoxide to the corresponding lithium ketyl to the extent of 65%.

Faster LLL-type Reduction of Lattice Bases

Proceedings of the ACM on International Symposium on Symbolic and Algebraic Computation, 2016
We describe an asymptotically fast variant of the LLL lattice reduction algorithm. It takes as input a basis B ∈ Zn x n and returns a (reduced) basis C of the Euclidean lattice L spanned by B, whose first vector satisfies |c1| ≤ (1+c) (4/3)(n-1)/4 (det L)1/n for any fixed c>0.

Type-Reduction for Concave Type-2 Fuzzy Sets

2015
An efficient centroid type-reduction strategy for general type-2 fuzzy set is proposed by Liu. In Liu’s method, a type-2 fuzzy set will be decomposed into several interval type-2 fuzzy sets. However, if the membership function of the type-2 fuzzy set is concave, the primary membership of these interval type-2 fuzzy sets on some points may not have only
