Active Mining of Document Type Definitions

2018
In this paper, we present the application of our active learning algorithm for Systems of Procedural Automata (SPAs) for inferring Document Type Definitions (DTDs) via testing of corresponding document validators. The point of this specification mining approach is to reveal unknown (lost or hidden) syntactic document constraints that are automatically ...

Typed structured documents for information retrieval

1997
The paper presents a model for typed, structured documents to improve the quality of retrieval. The document type determines the representative characteristics of the document content. Document content is indexed in order to provide structured and more precise queries.

An ontological Approach to manage and harmonize Document Types

2012
Working interoperability when consuming resources of different document types requires a harmonized understanding of their structures and contents. But sometimes, a specification has not made the underlying model explicit which would enable a coherent understanding.

Typing and querying XML documents

Proceedings of the twenty-second ACM SIGMOD-SIGACT-SIGART symposium on Principles of database systems, 2003
We study the complexity bound of validating XML documents, viewed as labeled unranked ordered trees, against various typing systems like DTDs, XML schemas, tree automata ... We also consider query evaluation complexities for various fragments of XPath. For both problems, validation and query evaluation, we consider data and combined complexity bounds.

Document Type Definition (DTD)

2017
Document Type Definitions (DTDs) are schemas that describe the structure and, to a limited extent, the content of Extensible Markup Language (XML) and Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) documents. At its inception, the XML standard inherited the DTD from SGML as its only schema language. Many alternative schema languages have subsequently been
