Fibromatous Tumor (Desmoid Type) of the Orbit
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1979A case of a desmoid tumor originally appeared as an orbital mass lesion in a 63-year-old woman. This is a most unusual location for this tumor and, to our knowledge, only one previous case of this type has been reported in the ophthalmic literature.

MASCULINIZING TUMOR OF THE OVARY OF THE ADRENAL TYPE
Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1947Abstract There are a number of features in this case that seem noteworthy, viz., although the patient gave a history of menopause at 37 years with rather severe symptoms, the ovaries were both enlarged to two or three times normal size and lacked the typical atrophic wrinkled and pitted appearance of the senile ovary, and were smooth and cellular ...

Salivary gland-type tumors of the thymus represent a subgroup of tumors and a subject that for the most part has been ignored in the literature. The attention that salivary gland-type tumors in the thorax get is essentially due to those tumors that occur in the lung.

Membrane-type metalloproteinases in tumor invasion
The International Journal of Biochemistry & Cell Biology, 1998Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are members of a multigene family of zinc-dependent enzymes involved in the degradation of numerous extracellular matrix (ECM) components. Among these enzymes, membrane-type MMPs (MT-MMPs) play a major role in the activation of progelatinase A (MMP-2).

Type IV collagenases in invasive tumors
Breast Cancer Research and Treatment, 1993The matrix metalloproteinases appear to be elevated in tumors with metastatic potential, and may well be involved in penetration of the basement membrane and degradation of extracellular proteins including type IV collagen. An imbalance between the 72 kDa and 92 kDa type IV collagenases and the associated tissue inhibitors of these metalloproteinases ...
