Effects of nutrient and litter manipulations on the narrow-leaved cattail, Typha angustifolia L.
Aquatic Botany, 1990Abstract The effects of altering litter and nutrient loading on above-ground production, nutrient content and borer infestation of Typha angustifolia L. were studied with a 3-year field experiment. In replicated plots, litter was either removed, replaced with plastic strips (pseudolitter), increased 3-fold or left unaltered.

Concentrations of heavy metals (Cd, Pb, Cr, Ni, Zn and Cu) were measured in bottom sediments, water and Typha angustifolia and Potamogeton pectinatus in Sultan Marsh. Sultan Marsh is one of the largest and most important wetlands in Turkey, Middle East and Europe, embodying saline and fresh water ecosystems and providing a shelter for 426 bird species.

Allelopathic Effect of Typha Angustifolia L. on Phytoplankton
Advanced Materials Research, 2011To pursue an effective method to control phytoplankton blooms, the allelochemicals of Typha angustifolia L. were purified and identified and their allelopathic effects were studied in phytoplankton assemblage assays. We found that the Typha angustifolia L.

The importance of standing dead shoots of the narrow leaved cattail, Typha angustifolia L.
Aquatic Botany, 1988Abstract Field experiments in a brackish tidal wetland dominated by Typha angustifolia L. demonstrated that dead shoots provide vital aeration for rhizomes of dormant Typha . Cutting off or bending over dead shoots at the sediment surface lowered oxygen concentrations in rhizomes and lowered above-ground production and flowering in the following ...

We investigated the community structure of endophytic bacteria in narrowleaf cattail (Typha angustifolia L.) roots growing in the Beijing Cuihu Wetland, China, using the 16S rDNA library technique. In total, 184 individual sequences were used to assess the diversity of endophytic bacteria.

The aim of this study was to investigate seasonal heavy metal accumulation and translocation characteristics of the narrow-leaved cattail (Typha angustifolia L.). Sediment and plant samples were taken seasonally from six different locations identified for this purpose, and Pb, Cr, Cu, Ni, Zn, and Cd concentrations as well as accumulation factor (AF ...

Typha angustifolia L. X T. latifolia L. (T.) (glauca Godr.) in Nederland
1962Typha x glauca Godr., the hybrid of T. angustifolia L. and T. latifolia L. was found in the Netherlands for the first time in 1847 and again in 1946, as appears from the collections in the Rijksherbarium, Leiden. Fig. 1 shows the differences found in the female flowers, the pollen, and the branchlets of the female part of the spike of T.

Plant-microorganism combined bioremediation is a highly efficient and environmentally sustainable method for the remediation of contaminated soils. Despite its potential, the synergistic effects of wetland plants and anaerobic microbial consortium on the removal of chlorinated hydrocarbons (CAHs) from soil remain inadequately understood. In this study,
