From steps to home ranges: How habitat disturbance influences the movement drivers of an arboreal primate

Challenging the narrative about howler monkeys' high resilience to anthropogenic changes, our multiscale analysis reveals the costs of habitat disturbance to their movement ecology. We identify thermal limitations, reduced travel efficiency, and significant spatial saturation.

Early‐life environment drives long‐term decrease in adult body mass in a wild bird population

Using more than 90,000 body mass measures of adult and nestling great tits Parus major, we show that the 1 SD decline in adult mass between 1978 and 2024 is a consequence of changes in the environment (i.e. increase in population density) experienced at early life.

Abstract This article explores the distribution, syntax, and information structure of XVS clauses in the narrative text and the reported speech of a thirteenth‐century Old Catalan chronicle, the Llibre dels Fets. It is shown that XVS occurs mainly within reported speech and in embedded clauses.

Divine Self‐Placement, Sacred Placemaking: The Virgin of El Rocío and Territorial Custodianship in Early Modern Spain

This essay argues that the Rocío hallazgo legend employs divine self‐placement to turn territorial uncertainty into sacred stewardship. The Virgin's miraculous refusal to move establishes the marshlands of Las Rocinas as a communal religious site, transforming a marginal and legally ambiguous area.
