PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Analysis of closed and open numerical systems of geochemical data in spatial statistics environment in order to separate anomalous areas

open access: yesScientific Reports
Geochemical data are expressed in closed numerical systems due to their non-normality and the presence of outliers. The specificity of such data makes it challenging to analyze them using standard statistical techniques. The U-modeling of log-transformed

Game-related statistics that discriminate between winning and losing u-17 men's and women's basketball teams

open access: yesExercise and Quality of Life
The purpose of the present study was to compare game-related statistics between men's and women's under-17 (U-17) basketball teams and to identify game-related statistics that discriminate between winning and losing teams for both sexes.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Weak Convergence of Generalized $U$-Statistics

open access: yesThe Annals of Probability, 1974
Wichura (1969) studied an invariance principle for partial sums of a multi-dimensional array of independent random variables. It is shown that a similar invariance principle holds for a broad class of generalized $U$-statistics for which the different terms in the partial sums are not independent.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
