Cyclic 2.5D Perceptual Loss for Cross‐Modal 3D Medical Image Synthesis: T1w MRI to Tau PET

The proposed deep learning framework for estimating regional [18F]flortaucipir tau PET SUVRs from 3D T1w MRI. To this end, we introduce two technical innovations: a cyclic 2.5D perceptual loss with alternating neuroanatomical plane wise optimization, and a by manufacturer PET SUVR standardization that reduces inter scanner variability.
