Impact of Antiviral Therapy Scale‐Up Among People Who Inject Drugs in Scotland: Regional Evidence of Hepatitis C Virus Elimination

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Expansion of highly effective direct‐acting antiviral (DAA) treatment for people who inject drugs (PWID) is regarded as essential to achieve hepatitis C virus (HCV) elimination. A decade since the introduction of DAA treatment, we aimed to assess its roll‐out and associated impact in reducing HCV prevalence among PWID in Scotland ...

Template‐Assisted 3D‐PVDF Nanonetworks for Passive Daytime Radiative Cooling

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 13, 13 July 2026.
Three‐dimensional polyvinylidene fluoride (3D‐PVDF) nanostructures were fabricated by infiltrating the polymer into 3D anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) templates. Due to their high solar reflectance (82.4%) and infrared emissivity (96.7% between 8 and 13 µm), they are an ideal candidate for radiative cooling.

PEPITEM Regulates the Synovial Microenvironment During Immune‐Mediated Inflammatory Arthritis to Limit Disease

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Volume 78, Issue 7, Page 1446-1464, July 2026.
Objective Here we investigate the status of the adiponectin–PEPITEM pathway in early, treatment naive rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and the therapeutic efficacy of PEPITEM administration in preclinical models. Methods Peripheral blood was isolated from patients with clinical suspect arthralgia and suspected inflammatory ...

Robotic Partial Nephrectomy: Different Surgical Approaches for Different Locations

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The adoption of robotic partial nephrectomy has grown significantly over the past decade, prompting a debate on the merits of transperitoneal versus retroperitoneal surgical access. This study evaluated the association between surgical route (transperitoneal, TRPN; retroperitoneal, RRPN) and pentafecta achievement using a detailed ...

Utilization of Artificial Intelligence as Simulated Patients to Enhance Student Interviewing Skills in the Pharmacy Curriculum Across Multiple Programs

open access: yesJACCP: JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CLINICAL PHARMACY, Volume 9, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Traditional methods to practice patient interviewing skills for student pharmacists include the use of actors and role‐playing. While effective, they can be difficult to manage with large class sizes, cost, and time to train. Artificial intelligence (AI) and large language models (LLMs) are readily accessible to offer students a ...

Unveiling human–wildlife interactions in the context of livestock grazing abandonment and the return of large carnivores, ungulates and vultures: A stakeholder perspective

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 8, Issue 7, Page 2078-2090, July 2026.
Abstract Pastoral practices remain a widespread economic activity across European mountain regions. However, the viability of this activity may be threatened by the recovery of large wild vertebrates associated with passive rewilding, leading to the so‐called human–wildlife conflicts.
