Microaeration for hydrogen sulfide removal in UASB reactor
Bioresource Technology, 2014The removal of hydrogen sulfide from biogas by microaeration was studied in Up-flow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) reactors treating synthetic brewery wastewater. A fully anaerobic UASB reactor served as a control while air was dosed into a microaerobic UASB reactor (UMSB). After a year of operation, sulfur balance was described in both reactors.

In this research, the UASB-MFC dual sensors system was established and treatment the brewery wastewater. The COD removal rate attain about 90% and the NH4+-N concentration less than 15 mg/L, MFCs has a voltage range of 0.34-0.42 V.
