Enhancing GRU-Based DRL with Delta-LiDAR for Robust UAV Navigation in Partially Observable Dynamic Environments

open access: yes
Partial observability and sensor limitations are challenging for the navigation of autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) algorithms have emerged as potential tools in advancing this field.

Strategies for Assessing Post‐Wildfire Geomorphic Resilience in Semiarid Rivers

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We review and summarize diverse components of a catchment that can be monitored after wildfire to assess the geomorphic resilience of the river corridor in semiarid regions. We distinguish upland portions of river catchments from river corridors.

Meander‐Bend Erosion Dynamics Along a Gravel‐Bed River: Insights From Short‐Term UAV Monitoring

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Riverbank erosion is a natural process in meandering rivers that contributes to sediment supply and geomorphic diversity, yet it can threaten infrastructure and human activities within the floodplain. Recently, many studies have used high‐resolution remote sensing technologies to measure bank erosion, but they often focus on technical aspects ...

Validation of a Particle Image Velocimetry Algorithm Through Comparative Field and Laboratory Analysis

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Flow velocity measurement is fundamental to hydrological and hydraulic studies, providing essential data for streamflow estimation and river dynamics analysis. Traditional in situ methods like propeller gauges and acoustic Doppler current profilers are accurate but intrusive and labour‐intensive, while non‐intrusive image processing methods ...

Multi-Source Aero-Engine Fault Diagnosis Using Explainable Boosted Tree with Spatiotemporal Attention and Adaptive Feature Selection

open access: yesSensors
Faults in aero-engine rotating components account for more than 60% of total failures, and their early features are easily masked by noise under complex conditions.

Analisis Fase Transisi Tail Sitter VTOL UAV VT-1

open access: yes, 2012

Restoring Lateral Connectivity to Anthropogenic Riverscapes: Six Lessons From Stage Zero

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Centuries of river modification, particularly straightening and incision, have severely reduced lateral connectivity between rivers and their floodplains. As a result, Stage 0 riverscapes, characterised by high lateral connectivity (e.g., anastomosing or wetland riverscapes), are now rare in anthropogenic landscapes.

Riparian Failure: Damming and Flow Stabilization Exclude Cottonwood Colonization Along a Dryland River

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Marias River flows from Glacier National Park through northcentral Montana, and into the Missouri River. Annual flows gradually declined from 1902 to 2024 (~3.2%/decade) and the 1952 Tiber Dam and Lake Elwell reservoir were operated to attenuate peak flows and stabilize downstream flows year‐round.
