Abstract UCI-270 is a cast, cobalt and tungsten stabilized, nickel-chromium-iron alloy having unequaled performance in high-temperature applications to 2300 F (1260 C). Among its many uses are components for heat-treating furnaces, cement kilns, petrochemical furnace tubes, and refining furnace tubes.

Abstract UCI-170 (HL) is similar to HK material, but additional chromium provides better resistance to hot gas corrosion, particularly sulfidation. This alloy is used extensively for tube supports, hangers, and tube sheets. Alloy UCI 170 (HL) also possesses high-temperature strength, useful for service where excessive scaling must be ...

Abstract UCI-390 is the casting grade equivalent to alloy UNS N08811. The alloy is stable at high temperatures, weldable, and resistant to thermal gradients. UCI-390 is widely used in thermal shock applications. It is corrosion resistant in air, oxidizing and reducing flue gases, carburizing gases, salts, and molten metals.

Abstract UCI-160 (also called HK alloy) has been a standard material used in reformer type furnaces for many years. It performs well in carburizing and nitriding gases (both oxidizing and reducing) up to 1800 F. HK was the first general-purpose alloy for ethylene pyrolysis furnaces.

Abstract UCI-190 (HP) material is a general-purpose alloy for use in steam-cracking tubes and fittings and reformer furnaces. HP alloy has carburization, oxidation, and creep resistance at temperatures up to 2000 F. The alloy is weldable by GTAW, GMAW, and SMAW using electrodes with composition matching the base metal (25Cr-35Ni) or ...

Abstract UCI-371 is a furnace tube alloy that can provide either a higher operating temperature with better furnace yield or a longer life than either HK 40 or HP-steel alloys. This alloy, with higher nickel content than the two noted above, permits higher concentrations of both chromium and silicon, which enhance resistance to coking ...
