Abstract Plume interaction with a forest canopy results in flow features distinct from those in grasslands. Here, we model the turbulence dynamics of a buoyant plume in a homogeneous plant canopy with a crosswind using Large‐Eddy Simulations. As the plume interacts with the crosswind, we observe increased vorticity at the windward and tilted hair‐pin ...

The principal idea involves the utilization of existing solar radiation to degrade model pollutants (midodrine and humic acid) in aqueous solution. The decomposition of said pollutants will be observed through a photochemical effect known as “fluorescence”, whereby substances emit light after absorbing electromagnetic radiation. The ...

Novel genetic profile linked to cognitive decline in Hispanics/Latinos
Abstract BACKGROUND The APOE ε4 allele has weaker association with ADRD outcomes in Hispanic/Latino populations compared to non‐Hispanic White and East Asian populations. METHODS We used whole‐genome sequencing data from 13,025 Hispanic/Latino adults to infer population groups (clusters) from short DNA sequences at the APOE gene region.

This single‐arm meta‐analysis (9 studies, 357 patients) shows that PD‐1/PD‐L1 inhibitors plus anti‐angiogenic TKIs yield an ORR of 48% and DCR of 83% in recurrent/metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Median PFS is 9.95 months. ICI‐naive patients benefit more (ORR 60.9% vs. 36.1%, p = 0.0028).
