Efficient SLM Technique for PAPR Reduction in UFMC Systems
2019 36th National Radio Science Conference (NRSC), 2019Universal filtered multicarrier (UFMC) is a promising candidate waveform for 5G systems. UFMC is an alternative candidate waveform to orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), in which the filtering operation is performed for subband of subcarriers instead of the whole band.

An Effective Preamble-based CFO Synchronization for UFMC Systems
2018 10th International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems (ICCCAS), 2018Universal-filtered multi-carrier (UFMC) is a novel multi-carrier modulation technique for 5G wireless communication, which is suitable for short packet and low latency transmissions. In addition, UFMC has a lower sensitivity to synchronization errors compared with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), however synchronization is still an ...

On the cyclostationarity of Universal Filtered Multi-Carrier UFMC
AEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications, 2018Abstract In order to meet the explosion of connected devices with their heterogeneous applications, the upcoming 5G systems focus on the design of spectrally efficient waveforms. Universal Filtered Multicarrier (UFMC) is one of the major waveforms contenders that offers low out of band emissions, compatibility with the existing Multiple Input ...

FBMC and UFMC: The Modulation Techniques for 5G
2019 International Conference on Power Electronics, Control and Automation (ICPECA), 2019Orthogonal-Frequency-Division-Multiplexing (OFDM) is a promising multicarrier-modulation-technique and is an eminent alternative for the fourth-generation wireless communication system (4G), as it offers high spectral efficiency, multipath propagation, the frequency selective fading channels are protected and efficient power efficiency.

A Review of PAPR Reduction Techniques for UFMC Waveform
2020 4th International Symposium on Multidisciplinary Studies and Innovative Technologies (ISMSIT), 2020This paper addresses the usage of the Universal Filtered Multi Carrier (UFMC) band. UFMC is a multicomponent network modulation technique (5G). In this paper we discuss the different modulation technologies for 5 G technology and support the need for UFMC technology in wireless 5 G communication.

UFMC and LTE Convergence Test in Optical Access Network
2019 IEEE Fourth Ecuador Technical Chapters Meeting (ETCM), 2019An convergence optical access network with UFMC and LTE signal was tested. UFMC was transmited at baseband and LTE in paseband at 1.5 GHz. In order to recover the UFMC signal properly, LTE RF Tx power was optimized. Receiver sensitivities of −30 dBm for UFMC and −31 dBm for LTE was achieved.

Performance evaluation of the UFMC scheme under various transmission impairments
2016 IEEE International Conference on Communication, Networks and Satellite (COMNETSAT), 2016The next generation mobile network (fifth generation or 5G) considers the novel multi-carrier (MC) technique dubbed as Universal Filtered Multi-Carrier (UFMC) for implementation. It maintains the advantages of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) from the fourth generation while avoiding its drawbacks; mainly, the requirements for a strict

Low-complexity PTS PAPR reduction scheme for UFMC systems
Cluster Computing, 2017In this study, a low-computational-complexity partial transmit sequence (PTS) is proposed for reducing peak-to-average power ratios (PAPRs) of universal filtered multi-carriers (UFMCs). First, we analyze the differences in PAPR between a UFMC system and an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system.
