Review of UFMC Technique in 5G

2018 International Conference on Intelligent Circuits and Systems (ICICS), 2018
This article describes about the spectrum utilization of Universal Filtered Multi Carrier (UFMC). UFMC is a multi-carrier modulation technique in fifth generation network (5G). In this paper, we review the different modulation techniques in 5G technology and motivate the need of UFMC technique in 5G wireless communication.

On the Hardware Implementation of a Reduced Complexity UFMC Chain

2018 International Conference on Computer and Applications (ICCA), 2018
UFMC is a candidate waveform technology for 5G wireless systems and beyond. It combines the simplicity of OFDM with the advantages of FBMC. However, these advantages come together with an increase in the complexity at the transmitter caused by the implementation of a filter and applying an FFT for each sub-band, where as the receiver it is due to ...

Resource block management for uplink UFMC systems

2016 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2016
Filter-bank based multi-carrier systems have recently attracted lots of interest as a promising approach for the next generation wireless communication systems. Due to high complexity and long symbol duration, however, these systems need to evolve in a new multi-carrier technique, universal-filtered multi-carrier (UFMC). In conventional UFMC systems, a

An Ease UFMC Transmitter Using IFFT

2019 International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Control Systems (ICCS), 2019
UFMC is a suitable waveform for 5G requirements. It has the ability to overcome the drawbacks of the UFMC, FBMC, GFDM and OFDM techniques .IDFT and filtering part generates the UFMC waveform. This paper discusses about the IDFT part and filtering part. In IDFT part for reducing the hardware complexity and improves the performance of the system.

FBMC and UFMC: The Modulation Techniques for 5G

2019 International Conference on Power Electronics, Control and Automation (ICPECA), 2019
Orthogonal-Frequency-Division-Multiplexing (OFDM) is a promising multicarrier-modulation-technique and is an eminent alternative for the fourth-generation wireless communication system (4G), as it offers high spectral efficiency, multipath propagation, the frequency selective fading channels are protected and efficient power efficiency.

Comparison of clipping techniques for PAPR reduction in UFMC systems

2017 IEEE 9th Latin-American Conference on Communications (LATINCOM), 2017
We compare three clipping techniques for reducing the PAPR of an UFMC signal over an AWGN channel. First, the techniques are analyzed probabilistically showing that deep clipping reduces the most, but it also has the worst performance. Then, the percentile levels of deep factor and level clipping are optimized, achieving similar performance that common

Comparative analysis of UFMC technology in 5G networks

2017 International Siberian Conference on Control and Communications (SIBCON), 2017
The article dwells upon a new promising technology Universal Filtered Multi-Carrier (UFMC) for future 5G mobile networks. The technology is compared with OFDM technology used in 4G networks, and its effectiveness is analyzed. A disadvantage of OFDM technology is a necessity to use a cyclic prefix, which reduces data transmission rate.
