5G Channel Estimation Based on Whale Optimization Algorithm

open access: yesWireless Communications and Mobile Computing, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
This paper presents a novel approach, based on the whale optimization algorithm (WOA), for channel estimation in wireless communication systems. The proposed method provides a means to accurately estimate the wireless channel, while not requiring the statistical characteristics of the channel.

BER and PSD Improvement of FBMC with Higher Order QAM Using Hermite Filter for 5G Wireless Communication and beyond

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
Nowadays, multicarrier modulation schemes are being widely used in wireless communication system than single‐carrier modulation techniques. Single‐carrier modulation schemes are less capable of dealing with multipath fading channels than multicarrier modulation schemes, which results in lower spectral efficiency.

A new complexity reduction scheme in selective mapping‐based visible light communication direct current‐biased optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing systems

open access: yesIET Optoelectronics, Volume 16, Issue 5, Page 207-217, October 2022., 2022
Abstract Visible light communication (VLC) has emerged as a good accompaniment to radio‐frequency (RF) technologies by deploying multicarrier schemes such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). However, the coherent summation of carriers in the OFDM system leads to a high peak‐to‐average‐power ratio (PAPR), causing non‐linear clipping ...

PAPR Reduction in UFMC for 5G Cellular Systems [PDF]

open access: yesElectronics, 2020
Universal filtered multi-carrier (UFMC) is a potential multi-carrier system for future cellular networks. UFMC provides low latency, frequency offset robustness, and reduced out-of-band (OOB) emission that results in better spectral efficiency. However, UFMC suffers from the problem of high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), which might impact the ...

Resource Allocation for D2D Communication in Multiservice Cellular Network

open access: yesMobile Information Systems, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Allowing different services with different requirements to coexist is a hot topic for future communication. In order to meet the different communication requirements of users, this paper proposes a cellular communication system based on filtered orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (filtered‐OFDM) supporting device‐to‐device (D2D) communication ...

Flexible Numerology in 5G NR: Interference Quantification and Proper Selection Depending on the Scenario

open access: yesMobile Information Systems, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) adopted cyclic prefix OFDM (CP‐OFDM) for both uplink and downlink communications (although DFT‐s‐OFDM is also allowed in the uplink) in 5G New Radio (NR) Release 15. However, due to the variety of proposed deployment options and scenarios, a single numerology will not be enough to fulfil all performance ...
