Comprehensive 4D Parallel Transmission Spatial-Spectral Pulse Design for Slab-Selective Uniform Water-Selective Excitation: Demonstration in the Human Brain at 7 Tesla. [PDF]

open access: yesMagn Reson Med
ABSTRACT Purpose To propose a new parallel transmission (pTx) spatial‐spectral (SPSP) pulse design for achieving slab‐selective uniform water‐selective excitation without unwanted out‐of‐slab fat excitation when using bipolar slab‐selective gradients to maintain a sharp slab profile.

Multiorbital kinetic effects on charge ordering of frustrated electrons on the triangular lattice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The role of the multiorbital effects on the emergence of frustrated electronic orders on the triangular lattice at half filling is investigated through an extended spinless fermion Hubbard model.

Density functional electronic spectrum of the $Cu O_{-6}^{-10}$ cluster and possible local Jahn-Teller distorsions in the La-Ba-Cu-O superconductor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We present a density functional theory (DFT) calculation in the generalized gradient approximation to study the possibility for the existence of Jahn-Teller (JT) or pseudo Jahn-Teller (PJT) type local distortions in the La-Ba-Cu-O superconducting system.

Spatial and temporal variation in survival of female wild turkeys

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, EarlyView.
We monitored 370 female wild turkeys across North Carolina's 3 ecoregions from 2020‐2022 to understand factors influencing their survival. Female survival varied by ecoregion and behavior state, with the incubation period having the lowest survival rates. None of the land cover variables affected survival.
