Surface‐Sensitive Characterization of Nujol Interaction with CaCO3 (104) Surfaces

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 27, Issue 6, 27 March 2026.
The adsorption of model alkane molecules on pristine and hydrated calcites was investigated using surface‐sensitive techniques. Significant changes in the molecule–calcite interaction, associated with defect formation and hydrated species on the substrate, alter molecule adsorption.

Observations of Isolated Mobile Au–Br and Au–S Surface Complexes on Au(100) Electrodes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 11, 9 March 2026.
Fast scanning tunneling microscopy measurements reveal the formation of Au–Br and Au–S surface complexes on Au(100) electrodes in aqueous electrolytes. These complexes are stable and diffuse as molecular entities over the Au surface, demonstrating that surface transport via complexes has to be considered in wet‐chemical growth and dissolution processes.

Interfacial Atomic and Electronic Structures of LSM/YSZ Thin Films as Models for SOC Air Electrodes

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 6, 17 March 2026.
Lanthanum–strontium manganite/yttria‐stabilized zirconia thin films serve as model systems for solid oxide cell electrodes, where high‐resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy reveal atomistic interfacial features and electronic structure supported by atomistic modeling of these interfaces.

In Situ EC‐EPR Spectroscopy and DFT Analysis of HUPD on Polycrystalline Pt

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 5, 13 March 2026.
Electrochemical electron paramagnetic resonance (EC‐EPR) spectroscopy provides a more comprehensive view of hydrogen adsorption modes on polycrystalline Pt within HUPD potentials. The results rule out bridge‐site adsorption, consistent with the accompanying ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulation of a high‐coverage Pt surface.
