A Modified Balanced Steady State Free Precession Sequence for Overhauser Magnetic Resonance Imaging

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Low‐ and ultralow‐field magnetic resonance imaging (ULF MRI) have inherently low signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) by design. Overhauser dynamic nuclear polarization (ODNP) stands out as an effective solution for continuous signal enhancement.

Nomenclatural revision of Pinguicula (Lentibulariaceae) in the Baltic and Nordic countries including their oversea territories and Iceland

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Names in the genus Pinguicula established for taxa from the Baltic and Nordic countries, including their oversea territories and Iceland, were analyzed to provide nomenclatural and taxonomic clarity. Of the 33 names retrieved from the literature and online databases, one is illegitimate, two are invalid and 16 were found to require typification.

Identifying anatomic brain structures using ultra-low field MRI in newborns

open access: yesNeuroImage
Background: Besides its limitations, cranial ultrasound is the standard imaging method in neonates. Early postnatal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) offers more objective measurements, but access to MRI is often limited. Portable ultralow-field (ULF) MRI

Negative symbolism of wildlife shapes human–nature coexistence: The plight of owls in Nigeria

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Human–wildlife coexistence in culturally diverse landscapes requires understanding how socio‐cultural processes shape perceptions and behaviours towards conservation‐priority species. This study examines perceptions, belief‐based uses and conservation attitudes towards owls in communities surrounding six Protected Areas in Nigeria, addressing ...

On the Close Correspondence Between Storm Time ULF Wave Power and the POES VLF Chorus Wave Amplitude Proxy

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2019
Ground‐based Pc5 ultralow frequency (ULF) wave power in multiple ground‐based meridians is compared to the very low frequency (VLF) wave amplitude proxy, derived from Polar Operational Environmental Satellite (POES) precipitation, for the 33 storms ...

Neue Einblicke in ein Schlüsselmaterial für Planetenphysik, Fusion und Materialforschung: Flüssiger Kohlenstoff

open access: yesPhysik in unserer Zeit, EarlyView.

A Comparative Study of Directed Energy Deposition‐Arc and Casting: Enhancing Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Hot‐Work Tool Steels

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
The study investigates the influence of DED‐Arc/M versus casting on the microstructure and material properties of X40CrMoV5‐1 (AISI H13) hot‐work tool steel. DED‐Arc/M yields finer microstructures, superior mechanical strength, and ductility, but slightly reduced thermal conductivity.

Formation of a magnetic duct by the compressional component of ULF oscillation: a ray tracing study of whistler-mode wave propagation

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space
We investigate the propagation of whistler-mode waves in ultralow frequency (ULF) wave-derived magnetic ducts using ray tracing simulations in a two-dimensional dipole coordinate system on the meridian plane. The refractive index modulation caused by the
