Micropropagation of Ulmus Species (Elms)

The genus Ulmus (family Ulmaceae) consists of at least 32 species in the Northern Hemisphere. Elms are deciduous trees; the flowers are all hermaphrodite and in most species appear before the leaves on the previous year’s growth. The fruit is a samara, winged all round but the wing emarginate at the apex (Tulin et al. 1964).
