An Analysis of Wrist Motions During Daily Activities From a Directional Perspective: The Significance of Directions Beyond the Dart‐Throwing Motion

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 5, Page 1486-1502, May 2025.
The study using an optical capture system revealed the directional characteristics of wrist functional motion. The results highlighted the directional range of motion (ROM), differences in preferences between genders and age groups, and identified three key directions most frequently utilized. ABSTRACT Background Previous studies on Activities of Daily

Does Combined Intravenous and Topical Tranexamic Acid Offer Additional Benefit Compared With Intravenous or Topical Alone in Open Elbow Arthrolysis—A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
Open elbow arthrolysis is a common method for treating post‐traumatic elbow stiffness. Intravenous, topical, or combined tranexamic acid administration showed no significant difference in reducing postoperative blood loss after open elbow arthrolysis. However, both combined and topical tranexamic acid significantly reduced postoperative drainage volume

Ultra Short Osteotomy With Mortise‐Tenon Diaphyseal Prosthesis Reconstruction for Forearm Metastases: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
A novel mortise‐tenon diaphyseal prosthesis enables ultra‐short osteotomy for forearm bone metastases, providing stable fixation with significant pain relief and functional recovery. This approach preserves bone stock and demonstrates excellent safety, with no implant failure, local recurrence, or major complications during mid‐ to long‐term follow‐up.
