ULNAR ARTERY THROMBOSIS

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1978
Forty-six patients with ulnar artery thrombosis were evaluated. A comparison of the results was made between those patients who were treated by sympathectomy and those in whom we attempted to reestablish the blood flow. A reverse vein graft was often used in the latter group.

Ulnar Artery Thrombosis

Hand Clinics, 1985
Management of ulnar artery thrombosis is a complex problem. Diagnosis is confirmed by Allen testing; other special studies are needed for adequate evaluation of circulation, and arteriography is necessary before definitive therapy can be planned. Treatment must be patient oriented and directed at the underlying abnormality.

Intermittent Occlusion of the Ulnar Artery

Journal of Hand Surgery, 1994
Intermittent occlusion of the ulnar artery developed in a patient causing cramp in her right hand. Both flexion and extension of the wrist completely obstructed bloodflow in the ulnar artery, a level just proximal to the wrist. At operation, a tight hand of antebrachial fascia was found to the cause of this intermittent arterial occlusion.

Ruptured Ulnar Artery Pseudoaneurysm

Annals of Vascular Surgery, 1995
Ulnar artery aneurysms and pseudoaneurysms are rare lesions that usually occur distal to the wrist and cause symptoms as a result of embolization and not rupture. An elderly woman presented with acute rupture of an ulnar artery pseudoaneurysm proximal to the wrist, which caused severe neurologic compromise as a result of bleeding into Guyon's canal and
