Sulfation‐Tunable Peptide‐Glycosaminoglycan Hydrogels for Hematopoietic Stem and Progenitor Cell Expansion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Co‐assembly of rationally designed glycosaminoglycan‐binding peptides with sulfated glycosaminoglycans yields supramolecular hydrogels with tunable mechanics and matrix‐mediated cytokine retention. The glycosaminoglycans thereby act as cofactors, driving a coil‐to‐β‐sheet transition that triggers gelation.

Multi-Objective Optimization Based on Kriging Surrogate Model and Genetic Algorithm for Stiffened Panel Collapse Assessment

open access: yesApplied Mechanics
A hyperparameter-optimized Kriging surrogate model was developed for the structural collapse behavior framework presented in this paper. The assessment is conducted on a stiffened panel subject to axial load and lateral pressure, typical of the deck ...

2D Co‐Assembly of Solid Acids Enables Stable Superprotonic Conduction Above 260°C

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐dimensional co‐assembly strategy integrates antimony phosphate and phosphotungstic acid nanosheets into free‐standing inorganic lamellar membranes with confined acid–acid interfaces. The resulting interfacial hydrogen‐bond network enables anhydrous proton conductivity exceeding 0.1 S cm−1 at 260°C and supports stable high‐temperature fuel‐cell ...

Sensitivity Analysis of Key Mechanical Parameters in the Uniaxial Compressive Strength Test Using Numerical Simulation

open access: yesAfghan International Journal of Science
Predicting the mechanical behavior of rocks under loading is crucial for stability analyses and the design of underground and mining structures. A primary challenge lies in identifying and quantifying the influence of Geomechanical parameters on ...

Gradient‐Conductivity Architecture Enables Synchronous Enhancement of Sensitivity and Detection Range in Multifunctional All‐Paper Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A gradient‐engineered all‐paper sensor is fabricated by integrating MXene and in situ grown AgNPs within hierarchical cellulose networks. The device breaks the sensitivity–detection range trade‐off through cascaded conductive pathways, enabling ultrahigh pressure sensitivity, humidity–pressure decoupled dual‐mode sensing, and outstanding EMI shielding,

Ultimate Strength and Post-Ultimate Behavior of Hybrid Platform Deck Girders

open access: yes, 2014
As for the increasing demands of offshore oil and gas, the new platforms are designed in more and more serious conditions. The safety check and modification of the complex structure has become a hot subject. Normally, the deck girder can be regarded as the combination of truss works and girders, which will suffer from the axial compression from global ...

Mechanical Programming of PEGDA‐β‐CD Polyrotaxane‐Based Hydrogels via Host–Guest Molecular Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A mechanically programmable hydrogel for tissue engineering is developed by modulating the molecular threading density of poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate‐β‐cyclodextrin (PEGDA‐β‐CD) polyrotaxane and combining it with β‐CD‐modified gelatin. The polyrotaxane‐guided transition from disordered pores to laminar microstructures enables precise tuning ...
