Weld bead reinforcement removal: A method of improving the strength and ductility of peaked welds in 2219-T87 aluminum alloy plate [PDF]
The results of a study to determine the degree to which the ductility and tensile properties of peaked welds could be enhanced by removing the reinforcing bead and fairing the weld nugget into the adjacent parent metal are presented.

A hydrophilic, stretchable, nonwoven electrospun fiber mat targeted to be applied in long‐term bioelectronic devices. By incorporating amphiphilic polyethylene glycol block copolymers in a polydimethylsiloxane matrix, the material develops stable hydrophilicity, enhanced breathability, as well as enhanced adhesion to cells.

Fiber‐reinforced elastin‐like tubular scaffolds are engineered to achieve anisotropic and reversible actuation under external stimuli. By adjusting fiber's angle, actuation behavior is finely tuned, enabling distinct actuation responses, even within different regions of the same scaffold.
