A CPW‐fed fractal monopole antenna with a reduced ground plane in frequency range of 500 MHz‐5.5 GHz
In this article, the authors propose a super wide band CPW‐fed fractal monopole antenna suitable for phased array antennas with a shaped beam radiation pattern, operating in the frequency ranges below and above 1 GHz at the same time.

Characterization of an aperture-stacked patch antenna for ultra-wideband wearable radio systems
This paper presents, for the first time, the time-domain characteristics of an aperture-stacked patch antenna (ASPA) for ultra-wideband (UWB) wearable devices. The methodology of antennas characterization for UWB radio systems is also outlined.

Low‐profile broadband circularly polarized short‐circuited dipole antenna with backed cavity
A broadband circularly polarized (CP) dipole antenna with a backed cavity is presented in this letter. The proposed antenna consists of a pair of rotational symmetric short‐circuited branches and a Γ‐shaped feed structure.

Influence of the Antennas on the Ultra-Wideband Transmission
Summary: Spectrum is presently one of the most valuable goods worldwide as the demand is permanently increasing and it can be traded only locally. Since the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has opened the spectrum from 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz, that is, a bandwidth of 7.5 GHz, for unlicensed use with up to -41.25 dBm/MHz EIRP, numerous ...

Ultra-Wideband Angle of Arrival Estimation Based on Angle-Dependent Antenna Transfer Function
Ultra-wideband radio signals are used in communication, indoor localization and radar systems, due to the high data rates, the high resilience to fading and the fine temporal resolution that can be achieved with a large bandwidth. This paper introduces a

Wideband single‐fed circularly polarised patch antenna
A two‐layered wideband single‐fed circularly polarised (CP) antenna is presented by the authors. A single‐fed corner‐truncated square patch with four identical rectangular matching branches acts as a bottom‐driven patch to generate CP radiation.

Metamaterial-Based Antenna Performance Enhancement for MIMO System Applications
This paper presents a method for designing a new two-element ultra-wideband (UWB) multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna. We propose the design of an ultra-wideband antenna has been proposed with a study of its properties.

The focus of UWB antenna research activity has matured in recent years and currently mainly concentrates on applications such as biomedicine and security. Early UWB antenna designs were driven by the FCC allocation of spectrum in 2002 and focussed on obtaining wide impedance bandwidths with reasonable group delay characteristics.

A time domain spherical near-field measurement facility for UWB antennas employing a hardware gating technique [PDF]
A spherical near-field antenna measurement facility employing a time domain hardware gating technique is presented. On-off keyed sinusoidal impulses are used as stimuli requiring wideband antennas with a bandwidth in excess of 400 MHz.

Modern antenna arrays desire antenna apertures which can support a wide frequency range and reconfigurable polarization states. It is challenging to realize such antenna apertures with high isolation among different antenna elements when they are closely
