Increasing directionality of planar ultra‐wideband antennas

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2009
AbstractA directional planar ultra‐wideband antenna is described and characterized through numerical and experimental results. The antenna is composed of a disc monopole fed by a 50‐Ω microstrip line with an L‐shaped ground plane. Simulations and measurements performed in an anechoic chamber demonstrate that the structured ground plane behaves as a ...

Research on Ultra-Wideband Antenna

2008 4th International Conference on Wireless Communications, Networking and Mobile Computing, 2008
This paper introduces the character and requirement of UWB antenna based on microstrip quasi-horn, horn, abnormity monopole, microstrip meandered-loop and biconcial omni-directional antenna. Several types of antenna for UWB are reviewed. These antennas are simulated and compared. These improvements are provided.

Miniaturization of ultra-wideband antennas

2008 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference, 2008
This talk briefly introduces design challenges of ultra-wideband (UWB) antennas. An outlined of special design considerations are presented from a systems point of view, followed by some state-of-the-art solutions. Then, the miniaturization technology of UWB antennas is addressed.

Ultra Wideband Wearable Antenna

2019 8th Asia-Pacific Conference on Antennas and Propagation (APCAP), 2019
In this paper, a design approach of an Ultra-Wide Band microstrip patch antenna with decent performance and low SAR results is presented. The proposed antenna consists of conducting circular patch element etched on a dielectric printed circuit board with compact size 40×40×1.4 mm3. The design is wearable for on-body applications, flexible, light weight

An Ultra-Wideband Bicone Antenna

2006 IEEE International Conference on Ultra-Wideband, 2006
An ultra-wideband bicone antenna is developed to cover the 25 MHz to 6 GHz frequency band with a minimum gain at the horizon greater than -5 dBi (>100 MHz) to -10 dBi (25-100 MHz) over this frequency range and a VSWR falling between 2:1 and 3:1. This bicone has a radiating aperture that is 2 inches in diameter and 44 inches long.

Ultra Wideband Antennas

2012
Chipless RFID tags require a significant amount of spectrum in order to encode their data. Hence, ultra wideband antennas seem like the obvious solution as the antenna of choice for the chipless RFID tag. The theory of operation and parametric study of circular disc monopole antennas printed on dielectric laminates is presented.

Recent topics in Ultra-Wideband Antennas

2012 IEEE International Conference on Ultra-Wideband, 2012
We study here three topics in Ultra-Wideband Antennas. First, we consider a standard for characterizing antenna performance in the time domain, We develop a single time domain function, called antenna impulse response, which fully describes antenna performance with equations that are as simple as possible in both the frequency and time domains.

Ultra-Wideband Compact Circularly Polarized Antenna

Wireless Personal Communications, 2021
In this research work, a circularly polarized (CP) monopole antenna is designed for Ultra-Wideband (UWB) applications. The CP UWB antenna is be made up of a reformed ring patch and ground plane. The slots and stubs are inserted in the ground to achieve CP in the UWB antenna.

A novel ultra-wideband antenna

Antennas and Propagation Society Symposium 1991 Digest, 2002
The authors present a novel ultra-wideband antenna that has been developed by combining two radiating structures, the slotline antenna and the bowtie horn antenna. It is shown that this antenna can maintain a stable pattern throughout a wide bandwidth, in this case 2 to 18 GHz, a flat plateau-like main beam, low sidelobes, low voltage standing wave ...

On the fidelity of ultra-wideband antennas

2012 IEEE-APS Topical Conference on Antennas and Propagation in Wireless Communications (APWC), 2012
Within this contribution two ultrawideband antennas, an almost omnidirectional bi-conical antenna of type SBA 9113 from Schwarzbeck and a directional Vivaldi antenna, are analyzed according to their time-domain characteristics. In this context the fidelity factor and the peak value play an important role.
