Biological information detection using ultra wideband signals

In this paper, detection of high-precision respiration rate and heart rate, by using low-band ultra wideband (UWB) signal is studied. In order to detect the high-precision biological information, two methods are proposed to reduce the background noise, using pre-measured ambient response without the human body, and evaluated with experiments.

Physics-Based Pulse Distortion for Ultra-Wideband Signals

In this paper, we propose a physics-based deterministic model for urban environments consisting of high rise buildings. We first derive the channel impulse response of the renowned Wolfisch-Bertoni model in closed form.

Ultra Wideband Signal Propagation in Desktop Environments

Short-range propagation measurements were carried out using ultra wideband (UWB) and continuous wave (CW) signals on a rectangular aluminum conductive plate, simulating typical office desks, with and without a low vertical metal partition panels. The frequency of the UWB signal spanned from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz and that of the CW signal was 6.85 GHz.
