Spectrum-Free Estimation of Doppler Velocities Using Ultra-Wideband Radar
A method for estimating Doppler velocities using ultra-wideband radar data is presented. Unlike conventional time-frequency analysis, the proposed method can directly obtain Doppler velocities without searching for peaks in a spectrum.

THE EFFECTS OF COMPRESSION ON ULTRA WIDEBAND RADAR SIGNALS
Over the past ten years, Ultra Wideband (UWB) Radar has been widely investigated as a biomedical imaging modality, used to detect early-stage breast cancer and to continuously monitor vital signs using both wearable and contactless devices. The advantages of the technology in terms of low-power requirements and non-ionising radiation are well ...

Decawave UWB Clock Drift Correction and Power Self-Calibration
The position accuracy based on Decawave Ultra-Wideband (UWB) is affected mainly by three factors: hardware delays, clock drift, and signal power. This article discusses the last two factors.

Optoacoustic signal excitation with a tone-burst of short pulses
Individual light pulses with durations in the nanosecond range are most often employed in biomedical optoacoustic imaging. In this excitation regime, ultra-wideband acoustic responses are generated from tissues that cannot be efficiently captured with ...

All-Optical Fiber Interferometer-Based Methods for Ultra-Wideband Signal Generation
We report two new, simple, and cost-effective all-optical methods to generate ultra-wideband (UWB) impulse radio signals. The proposed methods are based on fiber-interferometric structures, where an input pulse is split and propagates along the two ...

Ultra-Wideband Frequency-Invariant Beamforming Using a Generalized Nesting Array
This paper proposes an ultra-wideband frequency-invariant beamforming (FIB) using a generalized nesting array. To implement ultra-wideband (9:1 bandwidth ratio) FIB with a reduced number of array elements, the target frequency band is divided into ...
