Assessment of ultra-wideband (UWB) technology

IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Magazine, 1990
A summary report on a view of the state of the art and the potential performance benefits and limitations of UWB technology, with particular emphasis on radar applications, is presented. This review was carried out at the request of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

Design of ultra-wideband (UWB) MIMO antenna

2017 International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Control (I2C2), 2017
In this paper design of ultra-wideband (UWB) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna with wideband operation from 2.83 GHz to 10.18 GHz is presented. The designed antenna is combination of two similar patch antenna, which can operate in wideband. Isolation among both patches is obtained by inserting two parallel strips in between them.

Novel Optically Generated Ultra Wideband (UWB) Signals

Optical Fiber Communication Conference and National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference, 2009
We describe UWB wireless technology and the regulatory environment that imposes severe power constraints on these signals. We explain how optical pulse shaping can achieve impressive gains in power efficiency.

Ultra Wideband (UWB) Receiver for Radio Astronomy

2019 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA), 2019
Advancements in receiver technology have been crucial for probing radio-frequency signals from distant sources. The survey speed of a radio telescope represents a critical constraint on astronomical observations and can be expressed in broad terms as the product of bandwidth, field of view and squared sensitivity [1].

Ultra wideband (UWB): technology, design and applications

IET International Communication Conference on Wireless Mobile & Computing (CCWMC 2009), 2009
Summary form only given. In this presentation, Ultra Wideband (UWB) systems operating in 3.1-4.5 GHz band are shown to have interesting properties within dense multipath channels and metallic structures. First the IEEE standard UWB channel model is presented and discussed, then our combined deterministic-statistical channel modeling method is shown to ...

Code-Shifted Reference Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Radio

6th Annual Communication Networks and Services Research Conference (cnsr 2008), 2008
In this paper, a code-shifted reference ultra-wideband (CSR-UWB) transceiver, which separates the reference pulse sequence and the data pulse sequences with a set of shifting and detection codes selected from Walsh codes, has been proposed to remove the ultra wideband delay element required by the transmitted reference UWB transceiver.

Multi-layered Ultra-wideband (UWB) Bandpass Filters

2008 38th European Microwave Conference, 2008
In this paper, multi-layered ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filters have been proposed and developed. The first filter consists of two-layer dielectric substrate and one metal layer, modified from our original UWB bandpass filter using a single-layer microstrip-CPW (coplanar waveguide) structure.
