Codeword design for ultra-wideband (UWB) precoding [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2010
A precoding technique applied to symbols transmitted in an ultra-wideband (UWB) system can concentrate the signal power at the receiver for a higher data detection rate. The codeword design problem for optimal UWB precoding is investigated in this work.

Ultra-wideband chaotic radio pulse reception in the case of inter-pulse interference [PDF]

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences, 2019
The problem of receiving ultra-wideband (UWB) chaotic radio pulses of microwave band that passed through a multipath channel is considered. Based on measurements of UWB chaotic radio pulse propagation through a real wireless channel, a method for ...

Compact UWB Monopole for Multilayer Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A novel compact, dual layer UWB monopole antenna is presented. This low profile ultra-wideband antenna is fed by a 50 ? shielded strip-line with an array of metal vias making the conducting walls.

Ultra-wideband radio signals distribution in FTTH networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The use of an ultra-wideband (UWB) radio technique is proposed as a viable solution for the distribution of high-definition audio/video content in fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks.

Quality measurements of an UWB reduced-size CPW-fed aperture antenna [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The paper presents a characterization of a compact co-planar waveguide (CPW)-fed slot loaded low return loss planar printed antenna designed for wireless communication and ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. Following a review of the antenna design, which

Implementation Aspects of a Transmitted-Reference UWB Receiver [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In this paper, we discuss the design issues of an ultra wide band (UWB) receiver targeting a single-chip CMOS implementation for low data-rate applications like ad hoc wireless sensor networks. A non-coherent transmitted reference (TR) receiver is chosen

Non-invasive characterization of melanoma depth at single-cell resolution. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Eur Acad Dermatol Venereol
Non‐invasive determination of Breslow depth would be beneficial for the clinical management of melanoma. We demonstrate that RSOM can achieve non‐invasive imaging of single melanocytes up to several millimetres in tissue. A pilot clinical study showed a high degree of correlation between RSOM and the standard for Breslow depth determination.
