Influence of stress wave-induced disturbance on ultra-low friction in broken blocks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coal Science & Technology, 2022
Deep rock mass tends to be broken into blocks when mining for materials deep below the surface. The rock layer of the roof of the mine can be regarded as a system of blocks of fractured rock mass.

Ultra low frequency geomagnetic field measurements during earthquake activity in Italy (September-October 1997)

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 2001
Different methods with different results have been proposed in the scientific literature to identify the possible occurrence of weak seismo-magnetic ULF emissions. In September-October, 1997 Central Italy was struck by repeated seismic activity (M L <

Theoretical and Experimental Investigations on the Ultra-Low-Frequency Broadband of Quasi-Static Metamaterials

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
This paper proposes an I-shaped radial elastic metamaterial with ultra-low-frequency broadband characteristics and studies the propagation characteristics of elastic waves in their quasi-static state.

Thick conducting polymer films for ultra-low frequency stimulation [PDF]

open access: yesAPL Electronic Devices
Conducting polymers like poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) offer the possibility of improving the electrochemical performance of bioelectronic and biomedical devices beyond what conventional electrode materials offer. To

Venous Thromboembolism in Pediatric Bone Sarcoma Patients: A 10‐Year, Single‐Institution Experience Encompassing the COVID‐19 Pandemic

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Osteosarcoma (OS) and Ewing sarcoma (EWS) are the most common primary bone cancers in children, but acute thrombosis is poorly characterized in this population. Our study evaluated the rates of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and associated risk factors in pediatric patients with bone sarcomas treated over a 10‐year period encompassing

Design of frequency invariant beamformer for broadband arrays

open access: yes, 2007
A simple method for the design of a class of arrays with frequency invariant beam patterns is proposed. Starting from the desired frequency invariant beam pattern of an n-D array, the proposed method uses a series of substitutions and an n-D inverse ...

Serological Benefit of SARS‐CoV‐2 Vaccination Relative to Infection in Children With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are at risk of severe outcomes from SARS‐CoV‐2 (SCV2). In the post‐pandemic context, where most children have been infected with SCV2, there are limited data on whether vaccination remains beneficial in children with ALL.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
