Instability and ultra-high frequency spectrum pulse train in passively Q-switched Yb:LuAG ceramic laser

open access: yesAIP Advances
The ultra-high-frequency pulse trains in a Yb:LuAG passively Q-switched laser with a Yb ratio of 15 at. % are experimentally investigated. The pulse trains consist of a low-frequency harmonic spectrum pulse train with a fundamental frequency below 500 ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Power converter for ultra low-frequency and low-voltage energy harvesters

open access: yesMicro and Nano Systems Letters
Energy conversion mechanisms present in some harvesters are only able to provide very low voltage (mV) and frequency (few Hz) electrical signals, which may also have a bipolar nature (AC).

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Passive vibration isolators with high-static-low-dynamic-stiffness [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In many engineering applications there is need to reduce the level of vibrations that are transmitted from a source to a receiver. Amongst several different techniques, the most commonly adopted solution is to interpose an isolation mount between the ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Compact isolation of a large mirror at low frequency

open access: yes, 2023
editorial reviewedThe study presents the updates and challenges of compact isolation of a large mirror (100 kg) at low frequency (below 10 Hz). The isolator consists of mounting a passive inverted pendulum platform (IPP) on an active inertial platform ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.
