Superfluid ultracold fermi gases

2007 Quantum Electronics and Laser Science Conference, 2007
We have explored several aspects of superfluidity of ultracold fermionic atoms, including superfluidity of rotating clouds, of clouds with an imbalance in the population of the two components, and of atoms in an optical lattice.

Impurities in Ultracold Fermi Gases

Frontiers in Optics 2013, 2013
I will discuss how artificial impurities in ultracold Fermi gases can be used to probe the physical properties of the system.

Towards quantum simulation with ultracold Fermi gases

Latin America Optics and Photonics Conference, 2014
We describe the current status of our experimental setup to produce quantum degenerate samples of strongly correlated fermions. Our system allows us to produce weakly interacting Fermi gases, molecular Bose-Einstein condensates and crossover superfluids in the strongly interacting regime.

Superfluidity in ultracold atomic Fermi gases

2014
AbstractThis chapter reviews experimental studies of fermionic superfluidity in ultracold atomic gases. Scattering properties of ultracold atoms and Feshbach resonances are introduced. The basic theoretical framework is presented based on the Leggett ansatz that provides intuition into many of the observed phenomena.

Ultracold Fermi Gases : The BEC-BCS Crossover

Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 2006
We give an introduction to the present state of research in the field of ultracold atomic Fermi gases. Of particular interest is the search for (BCS) superfluidity in these systems. The existence of Feshbach resonance have made these systems especially flexible, allowing to control at will the strength and the sign of the effective interaction.
