The photoinduced transition in magnetoresistive manganites: a comprehensive view

open access: yes, 2017
We use femtosecond x-ray diffraction to study the structural response of charge and orbitally ordered Pr$_{1-x}$Ca$_x$MnO$_3$ thin films across a phase transition induced by 800 nm laser pulses.

Ultrafast X-Ray Diffraction of Heterogeneous Solid Hydrogen [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Angularly resolved x-ray diffraction at 5.5 keV establishes the structure of a 5 µm diameter solid hydrogen jet, providing a foundation for analysis of hydrogen in a warm dense matter state. The jet was composed of approximately 65 % ± 5% HCP and 35 % ± 5% FCC by volume with an average crystallite size on the order of hundreds of nanometers. Broadening

Ultrafast Charge Carrier Dynamics in Layered CuO‐TiO2 Heterostructure via Time‐Resolved Soft X‐Ray Absorption Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Ultrafast carriers transfer dynamics in the layered CuO∖TiO2 heterostructure. ABSTRACT Understanding the charge carrier dynamics at the p‐n heterojunctions is indispensable for designing efficient photocatalysts. In this work, we used element‐specific time‐resolved soft X‐ray absorption spectroscopy (tr‐XAS) to investigate the ultrafast charge transfer

Ultrafast (1‐5 sec) Lamination of Perovskite Solar Cells With Self‐Encapsulation Using Rapid Joule Heating

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Halide perovskite solar cells are fabricated with self‐encapsulation by lamination between two glass substrates using rapid Joule heating, yielding a 99% reduction in lamination time compared to previous studies. An 18% efficient cell is laminated in 5 s, demonstrating the potential for scalable manufacturing. ABSTRACT Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are
