A Walk in the Park: Influence of Natural Co‐Exposure to Grass Pollen and Fungal Spores on Nasal Mycobiome and Cytokine Responses

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Allergy, Volume 56, Issue 6, Page 617-628, June 2026.
Volunteers stayed 3 h indoors and followed 1 h outdoors in a flowering meadow. Nasal mycobiome was analysed and aeroallergen content measured in nasal filters. Airborne fungal spores were quantified and fungal isolates were sequenced. Isolated fungal spores were used for stimulation of nasal epithelial cells.

Spaces of nonuniform ultrafilters in spaces of uniform ultrafilters

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 1990
For an infinite cardinal \(\kappa\), let U(\(\kappa\)) denote the space of uniform ultrafilters on \(\kappa\), and denote \(NU(\kappa)=\beta \kappa \setminus U(\kappa)\). It is known that NU(\(\gamma\)) is not normal if \(\gamma\) is regular and not a strong limit [\textit{V. I.

$Z$-ideals and $Z$-congruences on semiring $\mathcal{R}^+(L)$ [PDF]

open access: yesCategories and General Algebraic Structures with Applications
For a frame $L$, $\mathcal{R}^+(L)$ denotes the nonnegative real valued continuous functions on $L$. We define the concept of $z$-ideals in this  semiring and  give a characterization of  its   $z$-ideals in terms of cozero elements of $L$. Also, we show

Poly(lactic‐co‐glycolic acid) Nanoparticles for IL‐12 Self‐Amplifying RNA Delivery in Glioblastoma Models

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 38, 11 May 2026.
ABSTRACT Glioblastoma (GBM) remains one of the most lethal brain cancers, with median survival rarely exceeding 15 months after diagnosis. Interleukin‐12 (IL‐12) is a potent immunostimulatory cytokine capable of reshaping the tumor microenvironment (TME), yet its clinical translation is hindered by systemic toxicity and short half‐life. RNA‐based local

A Smile From the Past: Exploring a Fixed Bone Dental Bridge From Eighteenth/Nineteenth Century Porto (Portugal)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Osteoarchaeology, Volume 36, Issue 3, Page 639-645, May/June 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper presents the first documented case of a fixed bone dental bridge in Portugal. This item was recovered alongside the remains of a young adult individual of indeterminate sex from the 19th century burial site of the 3rd Order of Our Lady of Carmo in Porto, Portugal.

General methods of convergence and summability

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2021
This paper is on general methods of convergence and summability. We first present the general method of convergence described by free filters of N $\mathbb{N} $ and study the space of convergence associated with the filter.

Selective Separation of the Rare Earth Elements Dysprosium and Neodymium via Tailoring Nanocellulose Chemical Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 32, 20 April 2026.
Dicarboxylate‐modified anionic hairy cellulose nanocrystals exhibit a high selectivity for dysprosium(III) over neodymium(III). This selectivity arises from disordered dicarboxylate cellulose “hairs” that enable cooperative ionic coordination, hydrogen bonding, and strain‐induced conformational shrinkage.

The Weak Ultrafilter Axiom [PDF]

open access: yesArchive for Mathematical Logic, 2015
The expression \textit{axiom \(I_0\) holds at \(\lambda\)}, or axiom \(I_0^\lambda\), denotes the statement ``there is a nontrivial elementary embedding \(j: L(V_{\lambda +1})\to L(V_{\lambda +1})\) with critical point below \(\lambda\).'' Axiom \(I_0^\lambda\) implies that \(L(V_{\lambda +1})\) possesses a rich structure theory. In fact, the structure

Function lattices and compactifications

open access: yesApplied General Topology, 2014
Let F be a lattice of real-valued functions on a non-empty set X such that F contains the constant functions. Using certain filters on X determined by F, we construct a compact Hausdorff topological space δX with the property that every bounded member of

Applications of the Magidor iteration to ultrafilter theory

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma
We characterize sums of normal ultrafilters after the Magidor iteration of Prikry forcings over a discrete set of measurable cardinals. We apply this to show that the weak Ultrapower Axiom is not equivalent to the Ultrapower Axiom.
