Dynamic membranes for ultrafiltration

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1984

Prediction of Ultrafiltration Membrane Performance

Science, 1962
A theory for ultrafiltration is presented which makes possible the characterization of a membrane at a given temperature and solute concentration by a single experiment at that temperature and concentration. The theory is applied to data in the literature and is shown to be consistent with those data.

Organo-mineral ultrafiltration membranes

Filtration & Separation, 1997
Abstract A new kind of membrane material, resulting from the addition of minerals (inorganics) to a polymer solution, is presented. This innovative concept allows us to combine the interesting properties of organic membranes (such as flexibility) with those of mineral membranes (such as pressure resistance, and surface properties).

Chemically resistant ultrafiltration membranes

Filtration & Separation, 1991
Abstract Polymers like polyethersulphone (or polysulphone) can be combined with polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) to form ultrafiltration membranes that possess good thermal and chemical resistance as well as controlled hydrophobicity.

Cellulose diacetate ultrafiltration membranes

Fibre Chemistry, 1998
New technology was developed for molding of membranes for ultrafiltration from CDA—acetone solutions at low pressure (0.2 MPa) and the conditions of their fabrication were optimized. It was shown that the method of spontaneous phase separation on a calender allows regulating the structure of the membranes.

Cellulose acetate ultrafiltration membranes

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1975
AbstractTwenty‐three different casting solution compositions involving cellulose acetate E‐938‐3 (polymer, P), acetone (solvent, S), and aqueous magnesium perchlorate (Mg(ClO4)2:H2O = 1:8.5) (nonsolvent, N) were studied for making ultrafiltration membranes.
