Si(B)C/(Hf0.75Ta0.25)C(N)/C ceramic composites are prepared via spark plasma sintering of amorphous SiHfTaBCN‐based powders. The inclusion of boron led to enhanced densification and great homogeneity of the microstructure, besides decreasing the thermal conductivity and increasing the Vickers hardness (31 GPa) as well as the Young's modulus (405 GPa ...

Establishing a structure–property relation (SPR) is crucial for tailored material design. Herein, an SPR is developed using machine learning (ML) on microstructural and thermal data, validated by experiments. A diffuse‐interface model handles the complexity of the microstructure to calculate the effective thermal conductivity by finite element methods.

Knudsen effusion mass spectrometry: Current and future approaches
Rationale Knudsen effusion mass spectrometry (KEMS) has been a powerful tool in physical chemistry since 1954. There are many excellent reviews of the basic principles of KEMS in the literature. In this review, we focus on the current status and potential growth areas for this instrumental technique.

Abstract Owing to economic reasons and the morphology of the surface of particles, carbothermal reduction is a suitable method for the synthesis of the desired materials. In this research, ZrC nanopowder was synthesized using phenolic resin as the carbon source and ZrO2 powder as the source of zinc by the carbothermal method. ZrO2 powder was milled for
