Ultrasonic A-scan to B-scan conversion by an optical fibre device
Ultrasonics, 1972Abstract A system is described which can convert an A-scan ultrasonic unit into a compound B-scanner. In this system a flexible array of optical fibres and a mechanical arrangement take the place of the position locating electronics and mechanical gantry of a conventional compound B-scan unit.

Ultrasonic liver scanning: the quantitative analysis of the normal A-scan
Physics in Medicine & Biology, 1972Previous methods of interpreting ultrasonic liver scans are discussed. A system is described in which the performance was calibrated in terms of measurable quantities; this avoided any possibility of distortion being caused by observer bias. The results of the examinations of 30 individuals with normal livers are reported: 30 scans of each individual ...

Ultrasonic liver scanning: the A-scan in the normal and cirrhosis
Physics in Medicine & Biology, 1972Techniques for the analysis of ultrasonic A-scans of the liver were used to compare the scans of 30 normal livers with those of 13 with cirrhosis. The ultrasonic frequency was approximately 1.5 MHz. Thirty scans of each liver were analysed using a computer.

CEPSTRAL PREDICTION ANALYSIS OF THE SIGNAL PATHWAY IN AN ULTRASONIC A-SCAN
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 2000Abstract Digital deconvolution of ultrasonic echo signals improves resolution and the quality of ultrasonic images. The Homomorphic deconvolution technique under noisy conditions is applied to simulation results in an ultrasonic pulse–echo amplitude scan line.

Ultrasonic C-scan techniques for the evaluation of impact damage in CFRP
, 2021In the present work, different ultrasonic C-scan approaches were used to evaluate Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers (CFRP) submitted to impacts of low energy, in order to evaluate their effectiveness for the detection and characterization of small defects.
