Ultrasonic Flaw Detection Method And Ultrasonic Flaw Detection Device
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2011An ultrasonic transmission medium (2) is received in a medium container (10), and an opening of the container is sealed by a polymer membrane (1). An inspection object (6) is received in an inspection object receiving container body (12) that is a separate body from the medium container (10) and whose opening is formed opposite the polymer membrane of ...

Detection of Pregnancy in Ewes with the Ultrasonic Scanopreg
Journal of Animal Science, 1981The accuracy of the ultrasonic Scanopreg was evaluated in tests with 24 commercials, West Virginia ewe flocks. Two Scanopreg units were used to check for pregnancy in 1,644 ewes that had been exposed to rams during the fall breeding season. Predictions were compared against lambing records. Possible accuracy errors were: type 1 (ewes diagnosed pregnant

Ultrasonic Detection of Delaminations on Composite Materials
Journal of Reinforced Plastics and Composites, 1997An accurate N.D.I. methodology can give a good knowledge of the internal damage status. The main purpose of the present paper is to describe the testing methodology and to discuss the testing procedures that have been performed in order to evaluate the position and the dimensions of the delaminations that occur in different composite materials under ...

Ultrasonic detection of colonic carcinoma in emergency
Diseases of the Colon & Rectum, 1984The role of ultrasound scanning in the diagnosis of cancer of the colon under emergency conditions such as intestinal obstruction, perforation or, more rarely, heavy colonic bleeding, is discussed. In any case, ultrasound scanning can quickly and rationally indicate choices for further assessment when possible.

Ultrasonic Based Proximity Detection for Handsets
2018 26th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO), 2018A novel approach for proximity detection on mobile handsets which does not require any additional transducers is presented. The method is based on transmitting a chirp and processing the received signal by applying Least Mean Square (LMS), where the desired signal is the transmitted chirp. The envelope of three signals (estimated filter taps, estimated

Ultrasonic Detection of Nonopaque Renal Calculi
Radiology, 1978Four patients with 5 nonopaque renal calculi composed of uric acid were examined by ultrasound. The calculi varied in size from a 1.5 X 1.5-cm intrapelvic stone to a staghorn calculus measuring 4 cm. All stones were satisfactorily imaged by ultrasound, allowing a diagnosis of nephrolithiasis to be made with confidence in each case.

A system for the detection and analysis of ultrasonic calls
Physiology & Behavior, 1982Abstract An electronic system for the acquisition, display and analysis of ultrasonic calls is described. This system generates output signals proportional to the predominant call frequency which can be recorded in real-time on a polygraph or subjected to detailed analysis by computer. In addition, a frequency-shifted audio output is provided.

Ultrasonic Detection of Bilateral Ovarian Cysts in the Fetus
Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1982Abstract Bilateral ovarian cystic tumors in the fetus were diagnosed by ultrasound at the 39th wk of pregnancy. The diagnosis was confirmed at laparotomy 8 days after cesarean section. The diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of the fetal and neonatal ovarian cysts are discussed.

Angle Independent Ultrasonic Detection of Blood Flow
IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 1987We present a new technique for blood velocity imaging based on tracking the motion of the speckle pattern produced by blood. Unlike Doppler velocity determinations, these are angle independent. Initial in vivo experiments yield promising results.
