Comprehensive Effect of Arc and Ultrasonic Energy on MIG Arc Ultrasonic Welding. [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials (Basel), 2021
Ultrasonic energy is introduced into the Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding arc and weld pool by superposition of an ultrasonic frequency current. In this study, the arc shape, arc energy, and ultrasonic energy that responded to ultrasonic excitation voltage and frequency is investigated.

Characterization of Nonlinear Ultrasonic Diffuse Energy Imaging [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control, 2018
Nonlinear ultrasonic diffuse energy imaging is a highly sensitive method for the measurement of elastic nonlinearity. While the underlying principles that govern the technique are understood, the precise behavior and sensitivity have not previously been quantified. This paper presents experimental, theoretical, and numerical modeling studies undertaken

Ultrasonic energy in endoscopic surgery

open access: yesYonsei Medical Journal, 1999
The Harmonic Scalpel made by Ultracision is a system for endoscopic cutting. The energy source is vibration. The power box is attached to a forceps or blade, and the vibrational frequency of the blade approaches 55,500 cycles/second. This causes a knife-like action of the blade through tissue, with enough heating to create coagulation of small vessels.

Effectiveness of ultrasonic energy in introitoplasty

open access: yesRussian Journal of Pediatric Surgery, 2022
Introduction. Currently, the application of ultrasonic energy for tissue dissection is a routine practice in surgery. Its effectiveness and safety has been proven in proctology, pediatric coloproctology, surgeries in the endocrine organs and in the abdominal organs.Material and methods.
