Ultrafast Vertical Organic Electrochemical Transistors With Ion‐Permeable Conductive Polymer Top Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Vertical organic electrochemical transistors (vOECTs) are limited in speed by ion‐impermeable metal electrodes that slow ion injection. Using ion‐permeable PBFDO top electrodes allows direct vertical ion injection into BBL channels, achieving high current densities (>400 A cm−2), large on/off ratios (>106), and ultrafast switching in 28 µs. This sets a

Modeling of a High-Frequency Ultrasonic Wave in the Ultrasonic-Assisted Absorption System (UAAS) Using a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Approach

open access: yes
The propagation of high-frequency ultrasound waves will generate both physical and chemical effects as they propagate through a liquid medium, such as acoustic streaming, an acoustic fountain, and atomization.

Miniature Soft Robot With Magnetically Reprogrammable Surgical Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Miniature soft robots have great prospects to revolutionize minimally invasive treatments. Here we present a miniature soft robot, which can be reprogrammed to perform five surgical functionalities with six‐degrees‐of‐freedom motions. This soft robot can prospectively make minimally invasive surgery considerably safer and painless, and enable ...

Energy Absorption of Macrocomposite Laminates

open access: yes, 2000
PhDThe aim of this project was two-fold. Firstly to provide an understanding of the behaviour of SMC when subjected to drop weight impact and secondly to investigate the effect of a surface layer of a metallic material (stainless steel, aluminium ...

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.
